«Stadtwanderungen» develops based on the experiences of jointly undertaken city hikes by the artists Christine Camenisch and Carmen E. Kreis, who live in Basel, during the lockdown 2020. As a prelude to this, a joint, site-specific city hike in Basel will be designed for the first time, which is open to interested parties.

The concept unfolds from the natural process and shows up currently differently. In addition to visiting special places, Christine Camenisch and Carmen E. Kreis plan to invite other involved persons. These guests can be a performance artist, an additional guide, for example a walk scientist or a guide for manhole covers (so called “Dolendeckel”), etc. The topic, the invitation, the time and the duration of the hike are still open.

The aim of the project is to share our experiences, to be on route with others and to sensitize our perceptions.
