The video shows flowing water (The Rhine in high water, in 1999) with text ribbons (in German). Its editing and the fact that it is continually repeated suggest a continuous curculation in which a strange object disappears and reemerges.

In contrast, verbal associations run across the lower edge of the screen. They refer to the element of water as a highly symbolic primary substance. The verbal images complement and deepen the viewer's gaze as they now and then create a friction between imagination and visual perception. A process of reflection and conception begins.
