simultan, 2008Video still from 1-channel video, projection or monitor, without sound, unlimited duration, with computer, software, media and camera
In cooporation with Daniel Bisig, artist and scientist, Zürich.
The work deals with the simultaneous presence of past, present and future. The starting point is formed by my video works using a computer-based video installation which is exposed to temporal distortions.
The installation uses algorithms commonly used in biology both to fragment video material and to synchronize it anew. In this way a visual development is created that is subjected to constant transformation making its visual sequences at all times new and unique. In addition, the installation reacts through a video camera to the viewers' presence and movements.
The installation is conceived so as to make it possible to add new video material at any time. Thus, this project integrates not only my current but could also include future video works. |
